We first started experimenting with our watering system, last summer. With no real information to guide us. We just started improvising. The results got better as we went on, and we may have finally found a formula that gives all the desired results: to water directly under the layer of mulch, have water soaking into the bed deep enough and evenly, use our water supply with electric pump and expansion tank.
The first thing we did was to connect 16 mm PE tube to a garden hose. 3 mm holes were drilled in the PE tube at +-15 cm intervals, sometimes perforating the tube on two sides.
